A recent presentation of Martie’s long engagement with South China Sea ceramic shards, found material, cultural memory, and reconstructed vessel forms. The exhibition brought earlier research into dialogue with newer assemblage and mixed-media work.

This substantial research exhibition presented more than finished ceramic objects: vessels, sculpture, installations, natural earth formations, found rock and driftwood, digital prints, glass, clay slips, stains, and teaching/production materials made visible the research process itself.

Martie’s Terraformation ceramics represented Brunei in this international ASEAN presentation. The works were materially tied to Brunei through the clay used in their creation, extending her site-responsive research into a wider regional context.

Four Terraformation works entered the Korea Foundation permanent collection: Iron Banded Bottle with White Neck, Berakas Pot with White Texture Shoulder, FeS₂ (Iron Sulfide) Earth Crusted Vessel, and Short Thrown Terra Formed Bottle.

Recent exhibitions with spouse/artist Kong Ho place Martie’s ceramic forms alongside luminous floral-nautilus paintings, creating an ongoing conversation between material, time, nature, and transformation.
